Meyer Ranch WWTP Expansion

GSE Construction partnered with Cloacina LLC (packaged MBR supplier) to provide a turnkey packaged MBR solution to meet the owner’s expansion needs. The existing packaged MBR system onsite was provided by another vendor, and the design for the expansion was based on additional MBRs to match those onsite. GSE and Cloacina provided an alternative packaged MBR system at a lower cost than our competition while also providing higher quality materials of construction, and our team was subsequently selected by the owner.

Although this project originally followed a design-bid-build model, our alternative packaged MBR approach meant a full re-design of the plans. Our team redesigned foundations and underground utilities to match the alternative MBR system and we were able to eliminate the extensive sludge handling system included in the design in lieu of a more compact and efficient alternative dewatering system as VE savings to the owner due. Throughout the re-design process, GSE has provided guidance on constructability of all systems and has been integral in specifying all materials of construction. GSE has also provided guidance to the owner & design engineer on proper installation of piping, valves and chemical systems, which will result in a better final product with no additional cost to the owner. Additionally, our team has designed an effluent flume system for the owner to meet additional requirements of the county.

The construction for the new MBR system will began in April 2024 and went online in November 2024.
