Foster Farms WWPS Upgrades
This design-assist project included the construction of a new pre-treatment facility for waste before it goes through the DAF system and BNR. This allowed the 6.3 MGD treatment facility to run more efficiently. The project included a 1.5 million gallon bolted stainless steel EQ tank with a course bubble diffuser system, three 75hp surface aerators, a leveling transducer, and DO probe which supplies all the data to the HMI in the controls room by way of communications/integration.
A blower building was added to house the three blowers that feed the diffuser system in one side, while the other side housed the VFDs and MCC to control all the equipment. Before construction started, GSE relocated a 15K high voltage line, an existing ammonia tank, and storage facility. Feeding the new EQ tank is a new 24-inch stainless steel influent line. GSE installed one 24-inch pneumatic kinfe gate valve and one 18-inch pneumatic valve to divert waste from existing (now overflow) EQ tank to the new EQ tank. GSE added three new 8-inch KGVs to the existing tank to feed the DAF system and one 50 HP split case centrifugal pump to the existing at the waste well to feed the entire system.
